Housing Assistance

Housing assistance includes a range of programs that can help with the cost of a safe place to live. Examples include rental assistance programs, the federal Housing Choice Voucher program (often called Section 8), which is run by local public housing authorities, and affordable or senior housing communities.

Who it is for

Each program has its own rules, usually based on income and household size. Many programs have waiting lists, and some open applications only at certain times.
